I took several of my Spanish students to a Food Pantry this past weekend to have them work with a growing Hispanic community in need. They were able to help out at the pantry by doing things such as stocking, etc, but also were able to meet and work with several Guatemalan and Mexican families who are in desperate need. The four walls of the classroom disappeared quickly when they were staring into the eyes of a hungry 4 year old.
As a follow up and for future collaboration with anyone interested, I am having them post their reflections on our wikipage. I welcome anyone who has done a good deed project that would like to have their students post comments to ours.
Here’s to changing the world one deed at a time 🙂
