Every Wednesday I help Mrs Kaufman (the 1st grade teacher) teach science club because it can get really chaotic. đź
Re:
I have done alot. I help a teacher teach her kids science. chaos happens alot. I have to always keep turning the lights off to get the kids to quiet down but they almost never do. I have to ring s wind chime to get those “animals” to quiet down.

I was invited to read this new blog initiated by a mother of a disabled child. She is wonderfully uses her new blog to describe her feelings and actions while dealing with her dear son. It also gives us all an opportunity to contemplate and think for a minute about others around us. There are many things in life that we can’t realize, and there are others we can’t describe.. It is a virtue and a gift to have senses to see, feel, hear, and think of everything around you..
I leave you now to read this blog entry. You can find it in other languages in the main blog website: http://onlararamizda.wordpress.com
He doesnât say âdear Mummyâ
Today is Mothers Day I am a mother, too. But my son doesnât congratulate me Doesnât hug and kiss me Doesnât collect flowers and let me smell He doesnât say âdear Mummyâ
Yet, I have worked so hard for him Cleaned him for years Didnât eat when he couldnât eat Didnât sleep when he couldnât sleep Stayed with him when he was ill He doesnât say “dear Mummy”.
My child canât speak Canât play like his peers Canât eat alone. Canât get up when he falls down My child is disabled He canât say âdear Mummyâ.

* I wrote this poem in 2005. My son can say âMummyâ and hug me now.
On the morning of Thursday 20th of November, me and my team of iEARN started our first event & our first project ever..a day before my students presented the “PAY IT FORWARD” project to the students at the school & distributed their brochures..
Next day & since we have chosen green to define ourselves and our mission, the whole school was wearing green ; teachers, students and even the school’s principle just to show their support to the Good Deeds project ..
Around 9 AM students from the future elementary school at age of 6, marched into the school and were welcomed by iEARN girls. they went to the school yard where a special place was set for them .. the purpose of the project was delivered to them by the art teachers at Al Hoora School and right away they started to make beautiful paintings that served the case.. as a reward kids had a great chocolate experience with the girls selling chocolate Fondue- mini cakes dipped into hot melted chocolate- raising money for donation..
Other students started to come and gather around and started to write on the flip board -that we’ve called good deeds sheet-a brief explanation of their actions and how they affected themselves and the people they’ve helped.. the purpose was to enforce the idea that good deeds cause a chain reaction just like the movie “PAY IT FORWARD” & that The good deed does not have to be big and expensive for someone to appreciate it. Just making someone elses day makes the giver feel good too. hopefully we were able to instill in our students a sense of good deeds & community service with those little acts..
Kids and the students had fun that day and that was really my icing on my cake.. I would like to acknowledge all the students who participated in making this event a success.. thank you all :))

I came across this community service event while attneding a conference at the MC in Dubai. It was very nice seeing several students and staff sitting their waiting for their turns to donate their blood. Personally speaking, I consider human translantiation and blood donations of the most noble and humane ways of helping others where you don’t only give the ‘extra’ money or some support, but also you ‘sacrifice’ a part of your very precious health for the safety and sake of someone else. These people deserve all types of respect and appreciation by people and the community.
Wish love and appreciation..
For the second year, the students in Bahrain proved to be very active and lovers of ‘Good Deeds’! In fact, I was amazed with the level of motivation and the spirit they have shown in this new work. More reports to come from Baharini students soon. This newsletter will also be published in our website shortly.
Today’s run was an exciting experience for many people who dedicate their time and efforts to help others. This way, the help was done by raising people’s awareness about the risks of women’s breast cancer disease. Raising fund and donating money for this yearly initiative is also an important aspect in this competitive race with more than 1500 participants this year in three 1K, 5K, and 10K competitions!! Well done!
Although being the 6th or 7th didn’t qualify me for an award, I’m sending few pictures from the race đ

A quote about this event;
We would like to begin our campaign this year by acknowledging the people who contributed extra effort by participating in some of the events like the âPink Day Photo Contestâ and âTawamTeam Spirit Contestâ from last year. They added that little something that makes every event memorable and added to the success of the 1st Annual Run/Walk, we appreciate it. With your help and participation this yearâs event will be bigger and better! So please join us and show your spirit, wear pink, eat pink cake, register for the race, form a team with your friends and colleagues, challenge them and most of all have fun!!
Have fun!
Happy new academic year and Ramadan to all our members and readers, I would like to share a message of invitation in both English and Arabic which I have received from http://www.57357.com cancer hospital in Egypt this week. Hope you could help..
———————————————— We will always be grateful for your wonderful support and encouragement and it is in your company that we we wish to celebrate the start of this holy season. As such, we invite you to visit the premises to share with us the pride and blessings of having contributed
to this noble endeavor. Hospital 57357 was built by you and a multitude of other friends in Egypt and around the world for you and for them, that is why, from the simple perspective of your ownership of this project, it is only natural that you would be concerned for its on-going success and the accomplishment of its vision, mission and goals.
If you happen to live abroad, maybe one way of actively interacting with us is to talk about the project to five of your closest friends and relatives who would be also interested in supporting us. You might prefer to send us directly their E-mails and phone or mobile numbers so that we establish a contact with them. You must have realized by now that we are badly in need of continuous support and increasing the number of donors if we want to secure an excellent comprehensive care and treatment , free of charge , for a growing number of children with cancer. We have estimated the yearly cost of running operations at the CCHE 57357 to be L.E.150 million. This amount is liable to increase steadily as we expect a steady increase in the number of sick children with cancer from all across Egypt and from the Arab countries.
Since the start of operations in July 7, 2007 at the hospital, and in the course of over one year we have received and treated over 25% of children with cancer in Egypt, totally free of charge. A good number of them have completed their treatment at the hospital and have resumed their normal lives. With the expected running of the hospital at full capacity and the opening of all remaining departments this year, it is estimated that the number of cases received and treated will rise to 50% of the expected total number of children with cancer in Egypt which is estimated at 8500 per year. Also, within our clear mission of serving as a magnet of care and exchanging knowledge with other healthcare institutions within both our immediate external Arab community and internationally, the hospital has received 70 cancer cases from our sister Arab countries namely Yemen, Sudan, Libya, Syria, Iraq, Kuwait, and Bahrain.
The administration was keen since the project’s inception to always adopt international quality standards in all aspects, such as design, sanitation, infection control, training, organization, treatment protocols. It also firmly believes that all sick children regardless of their background are equal in receiving the best comprehensive quality care offered free of charge by the hospital. Our ultimate objective is to increase cure rates from the present 40-45% in Egypt to 80-85% as in the developed world. This is no more a dream but a hope in a brighter future for our sick children with cancer and their families which they deserve and for which we will always work hand in hand to make a reality.
Best regards,

More information about our elementary students friendship with disabled students from the specialized school # 86.
On May 20, 2008 40 elementary school students went to the trip around the most famous place in Ferghana region, Kokand town, a place of ruling the last Ferghana Region King (XV111-X1X centuries). Before the trip our students together with the disabled students made a research on history of the most famous places in Ferghana Region â the birth place of local ceramics â Rishtan, and traditional silk fabric âATHLASâ â Margilan, the palace of the last Ferghana Regional King Khudoyar-Khan, etc. Students parents helped to find and organize information for presentations. The best presentation was about Kokand town, thatâs why we decided to start our historical trips with Kokand. We visited Khudoyar-Khan Palace, Local Art Museum and have learned a lot about traditions and culture of our motherland. Especially important was that our friends from the specialized school # 86 were with us. Because themselves they couldnât visit such interesting historical places
